Skoda Auto has announced that over 20,000 units of the Kushaq SUV has been booked since its launch. Skoda Kushaq was launched in June this year and since then its booking numbers have been increasing. Skoda says this growth is a result of the carmaker’s aggressive expansion of its network, which can be seen especially in South India.
According to the company, the dealer network in South India has grown from 38 touchpoints to 70 touchpoints. This rapid expansion of dealerships in South India has resulted in a 90% increase in sales in the Southern region. Let us tell you that under its India Project 2.0, the company is expanding rapidly in Indian regions.
Skoda Auto in India is gearing up to launch the Slavia compact sedan next year. The carmaker will also introduce the Kodiaq facelift, which will be the company’s flagship SUV, in January next year. The production of the Kodiaq facelift has also been started in India.
Let us inform that Skoda Auto has sold 2,196 units of cars in November 2021, which is 108 percent more than 1,056 units sold in November last year. Skoda Auto has so far delivered 2,300 units of the Kushak SUV in India.
Skoda Auto is working on plans to expand extensively in India. Skoda Auto will open 225 new dealerships by the end of 2022 to expand its business in India. The company has made its reach in 100 cities of the country by August 2021. Presently, the company has more than 90 dealerships in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

The SUV has been made available in India at a price of Rs 10.50 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Skoda Kushaq is offered in a total of 7 variants in three trims – Ambiente, Ambition and Style. This SUV has been made available in two petrol engine options. Engine options include 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines. Both the engines are made available with manual, automatic and DSG gearboxes.
Skoda Auto India has set a target of selling 30,000 cars in India this year with the Kushak SUV being a major contributor. Not only this, the company will sell 60,000 cars in India by the end of 2022.

Recently, Skoda has introduced its new mid-size sedan Slavia, which will be launched in January next year. The Skoda Slavia is built on the localized MQB A0 IN platform and its design is inspired by sedans like the Octavia and Superb.
The Skoda Slavia could be offered with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol, the same engine being used in the Kushak as well. The sedan will be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options. In India, the Skoda Slavia will compete with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
