New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya met Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India. During this, there was a conversation between the two about the Covishield vaccine. After the conversation, Adar Poonawalla said that there was a discussion between us to increase the production of the vaccine. He told that many countries of Europe have approved the vaccine, while many countries may approve the Covishield vaccine soon.

Adar Poonawalla said, “We discussed increasing the vaccine production. More than 17 countries in Europe have already approved Covishield and many countries are in line to approve it.

 

 

Mansukh Mandaviya praised Poonawalla by tweeting

On the other hand, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted and wrote, “Met Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute and talked about the supply of Covishield vaccine. I appreciated his role in overcoming the corona infection and also assured support from the government to speed up vaccine production.

Let us tell you that Covishield has permission for emergency use from the World Health Organization. However, it has not yet been approved by the European Medicines Agency’s dew. In the current situation, the Covishield vaccine has been accepted in more than 30 countries.

Significantly, at present, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin, Russian Vaccine Sputnik V and Serum Institute of India’s Covishield Vaccine are available to the general public.
