When the engineers who built the airstrip, fearing Pakistani attack, fled, dozens of soldiers were injured and reached the hospital, they rebuilt the airstrip overnight with the help of about 300 men and women from a nearby village. Due to which the Air Force plane brought the soldiers could land and Pakistan was given a befitting reply.
