New Delhi. Trade Association Indian Sellers Collective i.e. ISC (Indian Sellers Collective) on Wednesday asked IT giant NR Narayana Murthy to compete against e-commerce company Amazon (Amazon) by the Competition Commission of India i.e. CCI. ) requested to cooperate in the investigation.
Murthy’s company Catamaran and Amazon started a joint venture Prione Business Services in the year 2014. However, on Monday, both said that they have decided not to continue the joint venture after May 2022.
ISC thanks Murthy for not continuing JV with Amazon
ISC thanked Narayana Murthy for the decision to wind up this joint venture. In an open letter to Murthy, ISC said Amazon subsidiary Cloudtail made a profit of Rs 5,856.45 crore in income of Rs 39,043 crore between FY 2014 and 2020, which is reportedly out of the earnings of small sellers and retailers from these companies. has taken away. This amount should be deposited in the Kovid Relief Fund for Small Vendors.
Abhay Raj Mishra, ISC member and president of Prahar Sanghatana, said Narayan Murthy should set an example for the future by supporting the CCI probing Amazon’s unethical practices.
Apart from Prahar, the ISC includes All India Online Vendors Association, All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation, All India Mobile Retailers Association and Federation of All India Distributors Association.
