Indian athletes will return home today after a stellar performance in the Tokyo Olympics. All the players who have won medals for the country will be honored in a program organized at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium this evening. According to the information, during this program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also interact with the players through video conferencing. India won a total of seven medals in the Tokyo Olympics, including one gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
Sports Authority of India (SAI) has organized this event at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, in which players who won medals in Tokyo Olympics will be felicitated. This program will start from 6.30 pm. Many former Olympic players and officials of the Government of India will be present in the program along with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.
These Indian athletes are returning from Tokyo today
Golden boy Neeraj Chopra, men’s and women’s hockey teams, Bajrang Punia and athletes involved in track and field events are returning from Tokyo today. All of them will reach Delhi airport at 5.15 pm today. The Hila Hockey team will go directly from the airport to the Ashoka Hotel while Neeraj Chopra, the men’s hockey team and Bajrang Punia will head straight to the Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
Apart from this, other medal winning Indian athletes have already returned home. Meera Chanu, PV Sindhu, Ravi Dahiya and Lovlina Borgohain will also attend the event today. According to the information, this honor program can start from 6.30 pm. After the award ceremony, all the athletes will leave from Dhyan Chand Stadium for Ashoka Hotel.
