Benefits of Yoga in Winter: To keep the body warm and healthy in winter, follow these yoga asanas

Doing yoga gives manifold benefits to the mind, body and soul. Yoga tones the body, calms the mind and has many benefits if practiced daily. As the seasons change, our body also experiences many changes which are not good at times. Especially when you have to get up in the morning in the cold time and get out of the blanket and do yoga or exercise, it seems a huge task. However, yoga can give you the right kick-start for the day. Know, about some special yogasanas that keep the body and mind healthy during the winter season.

1. Paschimottanasana:- This asana massages and tones the body while stretching the lower back, hamstrings and hips. To do this, first of all, sit on the ground by spreading both the legs outwards. Let the toes be together, then inhale and raise your arms and bend the body forward as far as possible and also tilt the body. Exhale while bending forward.

2. Dhanurasana:- This asana tones the leg and arm muscles. Not only this, it is also beneficial in relieving menstrual discomfort and constipation, which get aggravated during the winter season. To do this, lie down on your stomach. Now while exhaling, bring the knees close to the waist and hold the feet with your hands. While inhaling, lift the head, chest and thighs upwards.

3. Trikonasana:- This asana helps in improving digestion and reducing stress and also reduces anxiety, stress and back pain. To do this, stand straight leaving a distance of 2 to 3 feet between both the feet. Bend the right leg towards the right and extend both the hands to the side till the height of your shoulders. Now inhale and bend to the right side.

4. Bhujangasana:- This asana tones the stomach and improves blood circulation. It also strengthens and improves the flexibility of the middle and upper back. To do this, lie face down on the ground, then spread your hands on the ground next to the shoulders. Extend your legs from behind and slowly inhale and raise your upper body. Stay in this position for 25 to 30 seconds, then exhale and return to the lying position.
