New York: Approval has also been given to apply booster dose of corona vaccine in America. That is, now the third dose of the vaccine will also be given to high risk patients of corona in America. The third dose of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines has been approved for emergency use. This announcement has been made by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They are kept in the group of high risk patients who are already suffering from serious diseases and whose immunity is weak. Meaning the patients who have had a transplant or are suffering from diseases like cancer, they will get the third dose of the vaccine.
FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock said in a statement, “The country has hit another wave of the COVID pandemic. It puts people at particularly serious risk of disease. Extra doses are for people with weakened immunity. Vaccination is done, they are safe and they do not need additional doses of Covid vaccine at this time.
America’s top epidemiologist Dr Fauci recently said that he expects the recommendation for a booster dose to come soon. An extra booster dose will only be approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). Fauci had said, “There will also come a time when we will need additional doses because no vaccine is going to provide an indefinite amount of protection, at least not with the current class of vaccines.”
