A company spokesperson said in a statement, “Johnson & Johnson Pvt Ltd applied for the EUA of its single-dose Covid-19 vaccine with the Government of India on August 5, 2021.” The statement said that this is an important milestone that the company’s tie-up with Biologicals E Ltd gives the people of India and the rest of the world a single-dose option of the Covid vaccine.
At the same time, recently the Ministry of Health also made a statement regarding Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. NITI Aayog Health Member Dr VK Paul had told that Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine is produced outside. According to the plan of the Government of India, this vaccine will also be produced in Bio-E, Hyderabad. Let us tell you that at present, 4 corona vaccines have been allowed for emergency use in the country, including Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V and Moderna vaccine. If Johnson & Johnson is approved, it will be the fourth vaccine in India. However, this will be the first single-shot vaccine in India.
