Covid-19 Vaccine: The ongoing vaccination program in the country will now accelerate further. The government is in talks with German company Pfizer to buy about 50 million doses of the vaccine. According to the news of the Wall Street Journal, the government is in talks with Pfizer Inc. and its German partner BioNTech SE.

However, so far no official statement has come from the company or the government regarding the purchase of vaccines from Pfizer. A Pfizer spokesperson said that it is in talks with the Indian government to supply the vaccines. The spokesperson declined to provide further details.

The big thing is that the pharmaceutical company Pfizer has not yet sought permission to use its vaccine in India. Earlier the company had said that it would only talk to the Government of India and the vaccines would have to be paid by the Government of India to Pfizer India.

No side effects of Pfizer vaccine reported yet

Sources have told that for the supply of vaccine to India, Pfizer has also put a condition to enter into a compensation agreement with the Government of India and has sent its documents. According to Pfizer, it has indemnified agreements with 116 countries including the US. At present, there are no reports of side effects of the Pfizer vaccine from anywhere.

Dosage of Vaccines in the Country 52 crossed the crore

The Union Health Ministry said that the total dose of anti-Covid-19 vaccines given so far in the country has crossed the 52 crore mark. It took 85 days for India to touch the 100 million dose mark under its Covid-19 vaccination campaign. After this it took 45 days to cross the 20 crore mark and 29 more days to reach 30 crore. It took 24 days for the country to reach from 30 crores to 40 crores and then on 6th August it took another 20 days to cross 50 crore vaccinations. On August 9, this figure crossed 51 crores.
