New Delhi. Agri start-up Farmkart on Wednesday forayed into the space of providing farm equipment on rent with the launch of technology platform rent4farm. The company said in a statement that ‘Rent4Farm’ will help farmers to rent high quality machinery and equipment at competitive rates.
In the first phase, Farmkart has started providing rental services in 200 villages near Barwani, Madhya Pradesh in partnership with 100 certified equipment suppliers. Atul Patidar, Founder & CEO, Farmkart said, “We started Rent4Farm in mid-June this year and the response has been overwhelming. We are now expanding the facility to a wider area and hope to serve at least 10,000 farmers.”
Farmkart products and services are available in 3,500 villages
He said that by the end of 2021, the company plans to reach 20,000 farmers across 3,500 locations with a fully operational mobile app. He said that Farmkart’s products and services are available in 3,500 villages of Madhya Pradesh and the company is in the process of expanding its reach in other geographies as well.
More than one lakh farmers are associated with Farmkart
At present, more than one lakh farmers are associated with Farmkart. Farmkart has its head office in Barwani, Madhya Pradesh and its strategic team is based in Toronto, Canada.
