New Delhi. Automobile is one such invention which has solved the problems of people from transportation to movement of goods and many more. Cars have become a part of the need of every common man nowadays, without which it is very difficult to travel. Hence, to keep your vehicles running and long life, it is necessary to do timely maintenance. Cars come with a long list of parts and some of which require regular replacement due to common wear and tear. There are also some parts of vehicles, which last for the life of the vehicle. We present you a list of components that need to be replaced regularly.
Battery
The battery is one of the most important parts of your car and without it, you can lose your car.
Can’t start. Generally speaking, a battery can last about three to five years, which can vary. There are some signs that your car’s battery is now exhausted or out of date, such as dimming of headlights, problems starting the car and low battery light on the dashboard. You should take revenge on it in time, so that there is no problem in your car.
Tires
Tires are such a part of the car, which stays in contact with the road and the car. Many different types of tires and different driving habits spoil the tires in their own way. However, to find out the faulty tyres, you can also look at the tires of the car. There are threads on the tires and you can use the coin to determine if the grooves are deep enough. Whether the tires are new or old, among other important factors, the depth of the threads matters the most.
Brake pads
The moving car is stopped by brake pads, these are the pieces placed in the calipers which actually squeeze on the rotor. Brake pads are made of steel plates with friction material on the surface, which can be either ceramic or metal. When this material wears out, it becomes very important to replace the brake pads of the car, as brakes will not work properly if the brakes are applied only on the steel backing. There is no time limit for brake pads to wear out, but it is generally advisable to replace them after 25,000 kms or 2 years.
Oil and Air filter
To drive a car, power is drawn from an engine (unless it is an electric car). The engine’s job is very simple, it draws air and then mixes it with the fuel. The engine does this work to push or drive the car. Like our human body, cars also need undiluted and filtered air to run properly. For air, there is an air filter at the front of the car and for oil, there is an oil filter inside the engine bay. Since these filters filter out impurities, they tend to clog after a while and hence, it becomes necessary to check their performance in every service.
