New Delhi. There is good news for the farming farmers. Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) has announced to provide 16,500 tractors under free rental scheme for farmers in Tamil Nadu. The company said that it will provide tractors on free rent to farmers for self-cultivation to farmers with 2 acres or less of agricultural land under Covid-19 relief operations. This scheme of the company will benefit about 50,000 farmers and will cover about 1.20 lakh acres of land.
The company said in a statement that Tafe Apne 16,500 will provide Massey Ferguson and Eicher Tractors to small farmers with two acres or less of agricultural land. Tafe said that in addition to the Tractor Free Rental Scheme, the company is also supporting the purchase of oxygen contributors, oxygen cylinders and large scale vaccination. The Chennai-based company said that it has contributed a total of Rs 15 crore for the Covid-19 relief.
The company said that with the support of the Tamil Nadu government, Tafe is happy to offer free-of-cost rental service to small and marginal farmers in the state. The company’s managing director Mallika Srinivasan said that Tafe would offer its Massey Ferguson and Eicher tractors along with agricultural implements to help small and marginal farmers.

Tafe said that farmers can avail this service using the farmer mobile application of the Tamil Nadu government or by calling the toll-free helpline number 1800-4200-100.
