Income Tax Return : If you want to file income tax return, then you can do this work yourself, you do not need any mediator or agent. Filing income tax online is also called e-filing. Here you can easily file your income tax return, all you need is a computer system or laptop, good internet speed and follow these steps.

  1. First of all go to the official website of e-filing – https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal
  2. Here first click on register yourself and create your account.
  3. Now you will get an option taxpayer, click on it and enter your PAN card details, then click on continue.
  4. Now a form will appear for information about your name, address, age and gender etc. You fill it according to your identity card or Aadhaar card.
  5. After this you will also have to register your email id and mobile number. After this is completed the form will be completed and you will have to click on continue again.
  6. Now a six digit OTP will come on your mobile, you will have to complete your registration by putting it on the website. Only after this you will be able to set password with your username.
  7. Now you have to login again.
  8. After login, many labels will appear in front of you. In this, you have to click on the e-file label and click on File Income Tax Return.
  9. Now options will appear in front of you that for which year you have to pay income tax, for example, suppose you have to pay income tax in the coming time, then you will have to choose the current annual year option named 2022-23.
  10. Now you will be asked whether you want to file income tax return online or offline, you will click on online.
  11. Now here you will have 3 choices, first individual, second HUF i.e. Hindu Undivided Family and third others. You will click on individual to file your income tax and after that select ITR1 and click on proceed.
  12. In the next step you will be asked about your bank details. There will be some options related to your income, which will be according to the seventh pay section 139 (1). Now this place will definitely take you some time but once you fill the bank details, then you will have to choose the option to pre-validate.
  13. After this a new page will open and most of the information will already be filled there, you have to pay attention here that no information is wrong. After that you will validate it.
  14. To verify your return in the final step, you will have to send the hard copy of all these to the Income Tax Department. This verification process is mandatory.
