IND vs ENG: Michael Vaughan unhappy with England Continuing With Rory Burns-Dom Sibley Opening Pair

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has given a statement about the current English opening pair Rory Burns and Dominic Sibley. Both these pair have failed to give a good start to their team in the Test matches against India. Let us tell you that Burns and Sibley could not face India’s strong pace attack firmly. Both players were dismissed for 0 in their second innings of the Lord’s Test. England lost that match by 151 runs. India has taken a 1-0 lead in this series.

In the first two Tests, Sibley scored 57 and Burns scored 67. It involved two ducks which made it impossible for England to win. Vaughan has given some suggestions for changes in the playing 11, he wants Haseeb Hameed to open and David Malan to play at number 3.

Vaughan wrote, “I need a little experience. I want to see David Malan at No.3. After 10 ducks, England should not go with the opening pair of Sibley-Burns. This is a sign of madness. It doesn’t work.”

Vaughan added, “Overall 37 percent of their partnership hasn’t even crossed the second over. This is shocking. You can’t go ahead with it and England knows that. I would like to give Hameed his right to open the batting. England will have to think a bit. They have three matches against India and then the Ashes.”

Significantly, the Indian team has put a lot of pressure on England. Some of England’s main players (Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Stuart Broad) are not part of the team.
