IPL 2021: The second part of the Indian Premier League Season 14 is going to be held in UAE. The team of Delhi Capitals will leave for UAE on Saturday. However, Delhi Capitals has not yet decided on the captain of the team. After reaching the UAE, however, it can be clear whether the team will be headed by Rishabh Pant or Shreyash Iyer will be made the captain of the team again.
Delhi franchise’s domestic players and support staff had gathered in the capital earlier this week, and all of them were also tested for COVID-19 which turned out to be negative. Now they are all set to leave the country. Â A DC official said, “Delhi Capitals will leave for UAE on Saturday morning with domestic players and staff. The domestic players are already under quarantine in the national capital and will later be quarantined in the UAE for a week.”
The team of Delhi Capitals is confident of playing its foreign players. When asked about the international players, the official said, “International players will come after fulfilling their international commitments. Shreyas Iyer is already in UAE.
No decision on captaincy
According to the information that has come out, Delhi Capitals has not decided about the captain. Shreyas Iyer was out of the first half of IPL 14 due to injury. In his absence, Rishabh Pant was made the captain of Delhi Capitals. But after the return of Shreyas Iyer, it is not clear in whose hands the command of the team will remain.
Two of the most successful IPL teams – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings – had already reached the Gulf country earlier this week. The world’s most dazzling T20 cricket mega sporting spectacle will resume in Dubai on 19 September.
