Maharashtra: Patients of Delta Plus variant are increasing in the state, the figure reached 76

Mumbai: There is a steady increase in the cases of corona in Maharashtra. At the same time, the fear of the Delta variant is also increasing. On Monday, 10 patients of Delta variant appeared in the state. After the arrival of new patients, their number has increased to 76 in the state. Of these, six cases have been reported from Miraj Kolhapur, three from Ratnagiri and one from Sindhudurg. During this, five people have died in the state from the delta variant.

There have been 76 patients suffering from the delta variant in the state, out of which 10 people had got both doses of corona vaccine while 12 people had single dose. These patients include 39 women and nine children, whose age is less than 18 years.

The age of 39 patients suffering from the delta variant is between 19 years and 45 years. At the same time, the age of 19 people is between 46 and 60, while the age of nine people is above 60 years. State Surveillance Officer Dr Pradeep Awate said, “37 people have mild infection.”

To track down the delta variant, Maharashtra has intensified the investigation. More than 10,000 samples have been tested by CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology.

Dr Awate said, “No state has actively sent so many samples for genomic surveillance and the results do not indicate an alarming situation.”
