Rajiv Gandhi Birth Anniversary: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday attended the program organized through video conferencing on the occasion of ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’, the birth anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of the country, Bharat Ratna and creator of modern India, at his residence office in Korea, Surguja of the state. Inaugurated the newly constructed “Rajiv Bhawan” at Durg, Dhamtari, Jagdalpur and Sukma. Rajiv Bhawan has been constructed for the better conduct of the activities of the District Congress Committee.

It is worth mentioning here that Bhupesh Baghel, the then State President of the State Congress Committee and the present Chief Minister of the State, had resolved to construct and renovate new office buildings of the District Congress Committee in all the 28 districts of the State. This resolution of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is now being realized. The buildings of the District Congress Committee of all the districts are being constructed with the same drawing design. To make the memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi everlasting, these buildings have been named as Rajiv Bhawan.

CM Bhupesh Baghel said at the inauguration of Rajiv Bhawan that according to the vision of Rajiv Gandhi, the guidance of Sonia and Rahul, the Congress government of the state is constantly determined to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He further said that with the cooperation of all the office bearers and workers of the Congress party, construction of Rajiv Bhawans is being done at a fast pace in the districts, out of which 6 buildings have been completed. 10 buildings are under construction. 4 buildings are being renovated, while 5 buildings are yet to be started. The process of allotment of land for 3 buildings is in progress.

CM Baghel said that the state in-charge PL. According to the wishes of Punia, the process of identification and transfer of land for the construction of Rajiv Bhawans in the newly formed districts will be completed soon. He asked the state in-charge PL for the construction of Rajiv Bhawans. He thanked Punia for his activism and continuous review. The Chief Minister also appreciated the cooperation received from State Congress Committee President Mohan Markam, Treasurer Ram Gopal Agrawal and Mineral Development Corporation President Girish Devangan, including the ministers in charge of the district. The Chief Minister also thanked Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agrawal for expeditiously completing the process of land allotment in the districts for Rajiv Bhawan.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant said that when Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was the President of the State Congress Committee, at that time he got the new building of the State Congress Committee constructed in Raipur. The in-charge of the state Congress, PL. Punia said that now under the guidance of the Chief Minister, Rajiv Bhawan is being constructed for the District Congress Committee in the entire state. Punia further said that the Chief Minister has emphasized on the need of building for the organization, it is a good and commendable work in the interest of the party organization.

State Congress Committee President Mohan Markam addressed the program virtually and thanked everyone for the construction of Rajiv Bhawan in the districts. He said that this would help in taking the government schemes to the people of the state. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey also said that the construction of Rajiv Bhawan will help in promoting the ideology and activities of Congress.

On this occasion, Lok Sabha MP Jyotsna Mahant virtually participated in the program. Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Industries Minister Kawasi Lakhma, Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhendia, Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, in the Chief Minister’s residence. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agarwal, MP Smt. Chhaya Verma, Parliamentary Secretary Shishupal Sori, Advisor to Chief Minister Vinod Verma and Ruchir Garg were present.
