5G revolution has started in India. Jio and Airtel, two major telecom companies of the country, are starting their 5G service in different cities one by one. Meanwhile, the country’s largest telecom company Reliance Jio has started 5G services under a pilot project in all 33 district headquarters of Gujarat. The company gave this information on Friday. With this, Gujarat has become the first state in which 5G service has been started in all the district headquarters.
First state with 100 percent coverage
The company said in a statement, “Today, Jio has started ‘True-5G’ service in all 33 district headquarters of Gujarat, with which Gujarat has become the first state in the country where 100 percent of the district headquarters are covered by Jio.” True 5G coverage. Gujarat holds an important position as it is the birthplace of Reliance.
Customers are getting free service
Jio is not charging any extra fee for providing 5G service to its users. The service has started in the state with the company’s ‘True-5G’ initiative called ‘Education for All’. Under this initiative, Reliance Foundation and Jio will together digitize 100 schools in Gujarat.
Soon the service will start across the country
Akash M Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm, said in a statement, “We are proud to share that Gujarat has become the first state to have 100 per cent district headquarters covered by our true 5G network. We want to showcase the true power of this technology and show how it affects the lives of billions of people.” He said, “5G must reach every citizen, every home and every business in India . Only then we will be able to increase production, income and standard of living and create a prosperous and inclusive society in the country.
