New Delhi. Former South African fast bowler Allan Donald recently talked about the best batsmen of his life, whom he bowled in front of. Donald is counted among the greatest fast bowlers of South African cricket. He said that he played against many world-class cricketers, but there are some names who top his list because of their special talent.
No wonder Donald started his list with India’s greatest batsman of all time, Sachin Tendulkar. Donald placed Sachin at number-1 in his list of great batsmen. He said that Sachin has the best technique in the world and can adapt to any part.
Talking on a YouTube channel ‘Cricket Life Stories’, he said, ‘The person who is technically the best and I bowled in front of him is Sachin Tendulkar. I found in South Africa that he could adapt to our conditions and techniques better than any other Indian batsman of that time. If he stood at the crease for 28 or 30 overs, it would have been difficult for every bowler. He played the ball better than anyone else.
Donald also placed West Indies legend Brian Lara, Australian all-rounder Steve Waugh and English cricketer Michael Atherton in his list of other great batsmen. Donald praised Lara for playing her strokes and said that she had a great back lift. He also said that Steve Waugh could turn any match in the direction of his team’s victory.
