The T20 World Cup is going to be organized at the end of this year. Team India is being seen as the strongest contender in this World Cup to be held in UAE. Former veteran cricketer Gautam Gambhir believes that India’s team is much stronger than Pakistan and is a strong contender to win the title.
Due to the World Cup being held in the UAE, it is being said that India will get an advantage. The pitches in UAE are similar to the pitches in India and spin bowlers get more help here. India not only has good spinners but its batsmen play spin bowlers better than the rest of the teams.
India and Pakistan will start their league campaign on 24 October at the Dubai Stadium. Gambhir said, “A lot will be expected from the Pakistani team as well. But if you look at the situation now, India is much stronger than Pakistan.
However, Gambhir is not running any team as weak. The former cricketer said, “T20 format is such in which any team can beat any team. In this format, only one player is enough to change the match. We cannot judge any team as weak.
Afghanistan is the team to reverse
Gambhir has described Afghanistan as a team to upset. Gambhir said, “You cannot underestimate Afghanistan. Players like Rashid Khan can make a difference. This applies to Pakistan as well but yes the pressure will be on Pakistan.
Afghanistan players play in the Indian Premier League and this has given the team a chance to improve. Gambhir said, “I believe that if any one team will participate in this tournament as a hidden system, it is Afghanistan. Apart from this, he has players like Rashid Khan, Mujeeb and Mohammad Nabi. You cannot take these players lightly.
Gautam Gambhir, however, considers Group A to be tougher than Group B. India and Pakistan are part of Group B and there will be a clash between the two teams on October 24.
