However, the western unit of BJP has remained silent on this whole matter. Meanwhile, former Union Minister Babul Supriyo on Monday met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda and after that said that he will continue to be an MP but will not be a part of active politics.

Announcement was made to resign from the post of MP through Facebook

Supriyo, an MP from Asansol in West Bengal and who came into politics from the world of singing, had announced through Facebook on Saturday that he would resign from his post as an MP and would retire from politics.

Will vacate MP’s bungalow – Babul Supriyo

Let me tell you, Babul Supriyo had said that, “I will continue to work constitutionally (as an MP) in Asansol, West Bengal. I will not join any other party. I will vacate the MP’s bungalow in Delhi and relieve the security personnel from their duties soon.”

What did Babul Supriyo say in his Facebook post?

Supriyo wrote in a Facebook post, “Going bye. After talking to my parents, wife, friends and listening to their advice, I am saying that I am leaving. I am not going to any other party – Trinamool Congress, Congress, CPI(M), nowhere. I am confirming that no one has called me. I’m not going anywhere. I am a team player! Have always supported one team Mohun Bagan – have been with only one party – BJP West Bengal. Simply !! I’m going.”

We knew he would go back on his decision: Kunal Ghosh

Trinamool Congress state general secretary Kunal Ghosh alleged that Babul Supriyo was doing ‘drama’ ever since he was removed from the post of minister at the Centre. Kunal Ghosh said, ‘If he was so inclined to resign, he should send his resignation to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Instead they are pretending. We knew that sooner or later he would reverse the decision.
