Hyderabad. Union Minister Bhagwanth Khuba said on Sunday that the three new agricultural laws of the central government have been welcomed by many states of the country. He told reporters that these laws are definitely beneficial for the farmers. The Minister of State for Renewable Energy, Chemicals and Fertilizers said that the new law will bring in a lot of investment in the agriculture sector and farmers can sell their produce in any corner of the country at a good price.
According to the minister, most of the states of the country have welcomed the laws and farmers will benefit from it. Khuba said that the Prime Minister has taken several steps to benefit the farmers and double their income by 2022. As part of this move, the central government is reviving five closed fertilizer plants and this includes the Ramagundam plant in Telangana.
Farmers protesting on Delhi border
The government has no record of how many farmers died during the agitation on the borders of Delhi since November last year against the three new agricultural laws of the Centre. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave this information to the Parliament on Friday. Tomar also said that the government has not conducted any study to find out the apprehensions in the minds of farmers regarding the three agricultural laws.
Thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been camping on the borders of Delhi for 8 months in protest against the three laws. Out of these, a small group of 200 farmers are now staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in Delhi after getting special permission.
