Vaccination For Children: The Zydus Cadila vaccine may get emergency use approval within two weeks in India. This vaccine is up to 67 percent effective for children aged 12 to 18 years. Zydus Cadila’s corona vaccine has been tried on children above 12 years of age, now it is expected to get permission from DCGI soon. This information has been given by Dr Paul, Health Member of NITI Aayog.

The third phase trial of Zydus Cadila’s corona vaccine Zycov D has been completed. Cadila has sought approval for emergency use for the corona vaccine with CDSCO ie Central Drug Standard Control Organization. After completing the trial on about 28 thousand people, the company has applied for emergency use authorization i.e. emergency use approval, on which data analysis is being done in the subject expert committee of CDSCO. All the data of the vaccine trial has been given by the company.

Zykov D is effective up to 67%
Zydus Cadila had claimed a few days ago that this vaccine was also tested on about thousand children aged 12 to 18 years and found to be safe. Its efficiency is 66.60 percent. This three-dose vaccine can be given at intervals of 4-4 weeks. This vaccine can be stored at 2-8 degree temperature. This is the first Plasmid DNA vaccine. Injection is not used in this, but this vaccine is needle free, it can be given through jet injector. The company plans to make 10-12 crore doses annually.

Apart from Zydus Cadila, many other companies are also working on children’s vaccine. Bharat Biotech’s trial on children aged 2 to 18 is almost complete. The company can apply for emergency use authorization with interim data after completing the trial soon. Apart from this, Novavax also got permission to test children. At the same time, Bio-E has also sought permission for the trial. Hopefully the children’s vaccine can be found soon.
