Vaccination For Children: Everyone is trying to know the answer to the question of when the corona vaccine will come for children in India. According to the government, in two weeks the Zydus Cadila vaccine can be allowed for emergency use, which has been tested on children aged 12 to 18 years. At the same time, the trial of Bharat Biotech on children of 2 to 18 years has almost been completed. Apart from this, Novavax also got permission to test children. At the same time, Bio-E has also sought permission for the trial.

According to Dr Paul, Health Member of NITI Aayog, the corona vaccine of children may come soon. It is likely to happen in the next couple of weeks. Actually, Zydus Cadila’s corona vaccine, which has been tested on children above 12 years of age, is expected to get permission from DCGI.

The third phase trial of Zydus Cadila’s corona vaccine Zycov D has been completed. Cadila has sought approval for emergency use for the corona vaccine with CDSCO ie Central Drug Standard Control Organization. After completing the trial on about 28 thousand people, the company has applied for emergency use authorization i.e. emergency use approval, on which data analysis is being done in the subject expert committee of CDSCO. All the data of the vaccine trial has been given by the company.

What is the company’s claim?

    • The company had claimed a few days ago that this vaccine was also tested on thousands of children aged 12 to 18 years and was found to be safe.
    • Its efficiency is 66.60 percent.
    • This three-dose vaccine can be given at intervals of 4-4 weeks.
    • This vaccine can be stored at 2-8 degree temperature.
    • This is the first plasmid DNA vaccine.
    • Injection is not used in this, but this vaccine is needle free, it can be given through jet injector.
    • The company plans to make 10-12 crore doses annually.

The company claims that the plug and play technology on which the plasmid DNA platform is based is ideally suited to combat corona as it can be easily adapted to deal with mutations in the virus.

At the same time, the second vaccine whose trial on children has almost been completed is Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin. The trial of Bharat Biotech’s vaccine on children aged 2 to 18 years is underway and in the final phase. The trial was divided into three age groups, 2 to 6 years, 6 to 12 years and 12 to 18 years. So far both the vaccine doses have been given to children aged 6 to 12 and 12 to 18 years and children of 2 to 6 years are yet to be given the second dose of vaccine in the trial which will end this week. Bharat Biotech’s vaccine is already being given to people above 18 years of age in India.

Apart from this, two more companies Novavax, and Biological E have sought permission for the trial of corona vaccine in children. In which Novavax has got permission for trial in children while Bio-E is yet to be received.

A vaccine that can be given to children between the ages of 12 and 18 can get emergency use authorization in two weeks. At the same time, Bharat Biotech can also apply for emergency use authorization with interim data after completing the early trial of the vaccine. Hopefully the children’s vaccine can be found soon.
