World U-20 Athletics: Indian junior athlete Rupal Chaudhary has created history in the World U-20 Athletics. She has become the first Indian player to win two medals in the history of World Under-20 Athletics. Here she has won bronze in women’s 400m race and silver medal in 4*400m relay.
In the 400 meters race held on Thursday night, Rupal finished third with a timing of 51.85 seconds. Here Yemi Mari (51.50) of Great Britain won the gold. Earlier on Tuesday, Rupal had won silver in the 4 * 400 meter relay race. Here the Indian team won the medal with an Asian junior record of 3.17.76 minutes.

Rupal is the second Indian player to win a medal in the women’s 400m race at the World Under-20 Athletics. Before him, Hima Das had won gold in the 2018 edition. Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra was the first Indian to win gold in the World Under-20 Athletics. So far in the history of this tournament, the Indian team has got only 9 medals. Let us tell you that earlier this tournament was known as World Junior Championship.
Rupal is from Meerut
Rupal hails from Meerut district of UP. His father does farming in Shahpur Jainpur village here. Rupal is just 17 years old now. She has also raised her mark in the national tournaments held at the junior level. After the recent success of Rupal, many big personalities including Union Minister Kiren Rijiju are congratulating him on social media.
