Anand Bakshi’s father used to work in a bank in Rawalpindi and he used to work in the Royal Indian Navy. When India was partitioned, Anand ji’s family came to India. When Anand came to Mumbai with the dream of becoming a singer, the matter did not work out. In such a situation, he again joined the Indian Army. But for how many days the army’s job could keep him tied to the one whose mind is engrossed in art. Anand again turned to Mayanagari.

Anand Bakshi, who dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood, had the skill of making words in his hands but he did not want to make it a profession. But it does not happen which is Manzoor-e-Khuda. It is said that this time in Mumbai he met famous actor Bhagwan Dada. Bhagwan Dada gave him a chance as a lyricist in his film ‘Bhala Aadmi’. This film did not give recognition to Anand but showed the way.

Anand Bakshi got success after 7 years of struggle

It took about 7 years for Anand Bakshi to take his skills to the people. Anand used to write his songs in Urdu and sing to the musicians. It is said that in 1963, Raj Kapoor gave a chance to sing in his film ‘Mehndi Lage Mere Haath’. But the real popularity came from songs like ‘Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana’, ‘Yeh Sama Sama Hai Ye Pyaar Ka’ from the 1965 film ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile’. These songs of Anand captured the hearts of music lovers in such a way that even today the age of this song is not old.

Anand Bakshi and RD Burman became the famous couple

The specialty of Anand Bakshi was that he wrote songs for people and actors of all ages. There is a feeling of freshness of every era in the song written by him. Although Anand mixed with many musicians, but his pairing with RD Burman was such that the listeners were mesmerized.
