David Warner is an Australian cricketer who has made a mark in international cricket. He is known for his aggressive batting and has been a part of the Australian team since 2009. He has also captained the team and has been a part of some of the most successful teams in the history of the game. However, his career has not been without controversy, as he was banned for his role in a ball-tampering scandal and has recently been stripped of the captaincy of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the Indian Premier League. In this article, we will look at the highs and lows of David Warner’s cricket career, including his birthday debut in international cricket without playing first-class cricket, his ban from the game, and his controversial departure from the captaincy of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team.

David Warner’s Cricket Career

David Warner made his first-class debut in 2007 for New South Wales. He had a successful debut season, scoring over 1,000 runs and becoming the first player to score a century in the same season. Warner then went on to make his international debut in 2009, playing in the ODI series against South Africa. He was an instant success, scoring a century in his first ODI match. He went on to become one of the most successful batsmen in the game and was a regular feature in the Australian team. He was also part of the team that won the 2015 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy.

International Debut and Ban

Warner was a key member of the Australian team for many years, but his career was rocked by a ball-tampering scandal in 2018. He was banned from international and domestic cricket for 12 months and was stripped of the captaincy of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the Indian Premier League. He returned to the game in 2019 and has been a regular member of the Australian team ever since.

Early Career Without First-Class Cricket

Despite his success in international cricket, Warner had never played a single first-class match before his international debut. He was a part of the New South Wales team in the 2007-08 season but did not make an appearance in any of the matches. He was then selected for the ODI series against South Africa in 2009 and made his international debut. He went on to become one of the most successful batsmen in the game without ever playing a first-class match.
