Honda Shine 125 Motorcycle touches 1 crore unit sales figure, becomes top selling 125cc bike

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd has completed the sale of 1 crore Honda Shine bikes in India. The company has informed that Honda Shine accounts for 50 per cent of the 125cc segment in India and will increase further in the times to come. The company said that the Honda Shine 125, leading the Indian market with a 29 per cent year-on-year sales growth, has become the most preferred 125cc bike of the customers. The company said that Honda Shine 125 is the first motorcycle brand in the country to touch the sales figure of one crore.

Talking about the sales of Shine 125, the company had sold 50 lakh units of this model till 2017. At the same time, the sales of Shine crossed 70 lakh units in the next year itself. The company launched Shine 125 in BS6 model in 2019. At the same time, the total sales of Shine reached 90 lakh units in 2020.

Talking about the power and performance of Honda Shine 125, it is powered by a 125cc 4-stroke, SI, PGM-FI air-cooled engine that generates power of 7.9bhp at 7500rpm and 11Nm of torque at 6000rpm. The bike has the option of kick and self start with a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda Shine 125 measures 2046 mm in length, 737 mm in width and 1116 mm in height. The Shine gets a wheel base of 1285 mm and a ground clearance of 162 mm. The bike has telescopic fork suspension at the front and dual hydraulic suspension unit at the rear.

Front and rear get 18-inch tubeless tyres. Both the tires are of the same size and width. This bike gets the option of 240 mm disc and 130 mm drum brake at the front while only drum brake has been installed at the rear. The Shine 125 has a curb weight of 114 kg and is fitted with a 10-litre fuel tank.

Honda Shine 125 is available in four colors which include Black, Gray Metallic, Blue Metallic, and Red Metallic. The drum variant of this bike has been made available at a price of Rs 73,352 and the disc variant at Rs 78,147 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the new Honda CB300R motorcycle in India on 12 January. This Honda bike has been launched at a price of Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new CB300R is available in two color options – Matte Steel Black and Pearl Spartan Red.

With the launch, the company has also started booking the bike. The new Honda CB300R can be booked at Honda Motorcycle’s premium Bigwing dealership. This bike comes in a modern design with a retro look. LED units and integrated LED daytime running lights have been given in its circular headlamps. Design elements like a full digital display, muscular fuel tank, split seats, a sleek LED taillight, contrasting exhaust, black alloy wheels, engine block protector give it premium appeal.

Honda Two-Wheelers India has released the December 2021 sales report. The company has said that in the month of December, 2,23,621 units of two-wheelers have been sold. This includes domestic sales of 2,10,612 units and exports of 13,009 units.

In the year 2021, the company also introduced many models in special editions, in which the Repsol editions of Grazia125 and CB200 were also discussed. Apart from this, the premium version of Activa125 was also launched. Honda is also looking to expand its two-wheeler business outside India.
