Recently, Indian cinema has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic with several productions being stopped due to the rising number of cases. The latest casualty is the shooting of the Mammootty-starrer ‘CBI 5’ which has been put on hold after the Malayalam superstar tested positive for COVID-19.

Mammootty Tests Positive for COVID-19

Mammootty, one of the most celebrated actors in the Malayalam film industry, recently tested positive for COVID-19. The actor had been shooting for the upcoming film ‘CBI 5’ in Kochi for the past few days and it was during the shoot that he began to exhibit mild symptoms of the virus. Upon testing, his results came back positive and the actor has been advised to remain in isolation.

Shooting of ‘CBI 5’ Halted

The news of Mammootty’s positive test result has led to the shooting of the upcoming film being halted indefinitely. The cast and crew of the movie were immediately tested for the virus and the results are expected soon. As of now, the shooting of the film has been put on hold until the actor is declared fit and healthy to resume work.
