Nothing has launched the Nothing Phone 1 as its first smartphone. The phone is making a lot of headlines due to its semi transparent look and fancy lights. In India, this phone competes with the mid-range smartphones OnePlus Nord 2T and OnePlus 10R 5G, which come in roughly the same price range.

All three phones come with a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor, though there is a slight difference in the processor. The Nothing phone has a Qualcomm chip while both the OnePlus phones come with MediaTek chipset. In India, the price of 8GB + 128GB variant of Nothing Phone 1 is Rs 32,999, 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 35,999 and 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 38,999. It comes in black and white color options. On the other hand, the 8GB + 128GB variant of OnePlus Nord 2T 5G costs Rs 28,999 and the 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 33,999. It comes in Gray Shadow and Jade Fog color options. While the 8GB + 128GB variant of OnePlus 10R 5G costs Rs 38,999, the 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 42,999. It comes in Forest Green and Sierra Black color options.

Display

The Nothing Phone 1 sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It comes with support for HDR10+ and offers 1,200 nits peak brightness. On the other hand, OnePlus Nord 2T 5G sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

While the OnePlus 10R 5G sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. It offers 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, touch response rate up to 720Hz and is protected with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Processor and RAM

When it comes to processing power, the Nothing Phone 1 gets a well-balanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chip paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. At the same time, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chip with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. While the OnePlus 10R 5G packs a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chip, which is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Camera

The Nothing Phone 1 gets two 50-megapixel sensors. The primary sensor is paired with a /1.88 aperture lens and comes with OIS as well as EIS image stabilization. The second 50-megapixel sensor is paired with a /2.2 aperture ultra-wide angle lens. It comes with EIS image stabilization, 114-degree field-of-view and macro mode. On the front is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with /2.45 aperture lens.

On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G sports a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens that supports optical image stabilization (OIS). In addition, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with 120-degree field-of-view and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.2 lens. On the front is a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor with an f/2.4 lens.

While the OnePlus 10R 5G sports a triple rear camera setup, the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor is paired with an f/1.88 lens that supports optical image stabilization (OIS). Also there is an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor paired with an ultra-wide f/2.2 lens and a 2-megapixel GC02M1 macro shooter. Up front is a 16-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5K3P9 sensor with an f/2.4 lens with EIS support.

Storage and battery

All the phones offer up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6 Direct, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and USB Type-C port. It should be noted that all of them run on Android 12 based OS. The Nothing Phone 1 and OnePlus Nord 2T 5G come with a 4,500mAh battery while the OnePlus 10R 5G packs a 5000mAh battery.

The Nothing Phone 1 gets 33W wired fast charging, and the Nord 2T 5G as well as the OnePlus 10R 5G come with 80W SuperVOOC charging. It should be noted that there is also a OnePlus 10R 5G Endurance Edition model that packs a 4500mAh battery with 150W SuperVOOC fast charging support. All three phones come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Nothing Phone 1 offers a glyph interface, which is not available in any smartphone on the market today.
