‘Squid Game’ star HoYeon Jung selected as one of Time’s 100 Next Generation Leaders

Squid Game: American magazine Time has selected “Squid Game” star HoYeon Jung as one of the 100 Emerging Leaders of Industries from Around the World for this year. As Yonhap reports, Jung was named in the Phenoms category of the 2022 Time 100 Next list, which also included American actress Sidney Sweeney and Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz.

The Time 100 Next list recognizes emerging leaders from around the world who are shaping the future and defining the next generation of leadership in five categories – Artists, Phenoms, Innovators, Leaders and Advocates, according to the magazine . HoYeon was the only Korean actress to be on the list.

“Squid Game” producer Hwang Dong-hyuk references the model-actress, who made her acting debut with the 2021 global sensation survival drama. Hwang said, “I feel like HoYeon Jung is still fighting every day against his own desires, along with jealousy of his fame, hopes and her success. I often joke around and call her a ‘warrior’. ”

Jung achieved global stardom for his role in ‘Squid Game’. She won Best TV Actress at major American awards, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She was nominated for Best Drama Series Supporting Actress at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. She has been cast in Hollywood films such as Alfonso CuarĂ³n’s upcoming thriller series ‘Disclaimer’ and Joe Talbot’s ‘The Governance’.

There was a lot of craze among the people regarding the Korean thriller show ‘Squid Game’. Once upon a time there were discussions of only ‘squid game’ in place. The nine-episode series had a viewership of 16.5 million hours within four weeks of its release.
