There have been reports of smartphone battery exploding many times, and this time it has happened with the battery of OnePlus Nord 2 smart phone. A few days back, a woman who bought the new OnePlus Nord 2 has claimed that her phone exploded inside her sling bag while riding a bike. OnePlus has acknowledged the issue and is trying to find out why the phone’s battery exploded. This allegation has come in the form of a tweet (now deleted) by Ankur Sharma from Bengaluru. According to Ankur, when his wife was going on a bike, the 5-day-old OnePlus Nord 2 suddenly exploded.
Soon after the explosion, smoke started pouring out of the OnePlus Nord 2, which was then kept in the woman’s sling bag. Smartphone explosions are nothing new, and many will remember Samsung’s failure where various Galaxy Note 7 users witnessed multiple smartphone explosions.

However, there could be a new case reported by a Nord 2 user, which the company is already investigating. A picture of this exploded OnePlus Nord 2 has been shared by the media, in which it looks completely burnt. The display, frame as well as the back panel of the phone can be seen to be completely damaged. Several layers of burnt smartphones can be seen in the pictures.
It is clear from the pictures that the device has exploded from inside. In his tweet, Ankur claimed that his wife had met with an accident due to the blast and is now in shock. This is the first incident of its kind related to OnePlus Nord 2. OnePlus has accepted Ankur’s tweet and has started investigating the matter.
In a public tweet via the OnePlus support account on Twitter, the company wrote, ‘We are sad to hear about your experience. We request you to connect with us on direct message so that we can amend and change it for you. We will get to know the real reason of the explosion only after the investigation of OnePlus. Till then it appears to be an isolated incident in all likelihood.’

OnePlus Nord 2 went on sale in India on July 29, starting at Rs 29,999. It has 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. At the same time, the price of the model with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage has been kept at Rs 34,999.
