The result of UPCATET, which was held this year for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in four agricultural universities of the state, was announced under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi in the state government. Aditya Singh son Satyendra Pratap Singh of Deoria got the first position in the examination for admission to graduation in agriculture.
In second and third place respectively, Navneet Rai son of Ghazipur Rajesh Rai, Faisal Warsi son of Ayodhya Mohd. Qayyum received it. Arpita daughter Krishna Kumar of Sainik Nagar, Kanpur in the entrance examination of Masters and Manish Tomar son Vinay Kumar of Awas Vikas Colony, Baraut, Baghpat secured first position in the entrance examination of PhD course.
Under the supervision of Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, the entrance examination of graduation, post graduation and PhD was completed. Dr. NP Singh, Vice Chancellor of Banda Agricultural and Technological University, conducted the examination with complete transparency. A total of 20951 candidates applied in UPCATET.
A total of 15776 candidates had applied at the graduation level, out of which 14550 candidates appeared in the examination. The number of qualified candidates in this entrance exam is 4339 (29.82 percent). A total of 3660 candidates had applied at the post graduate level, out of which 3397 candidates appeared in the examination and 1114 (32.79 percent) were found eligible. In PhD degree course, 1117 candidates had applied, in which 996 candidates appeared in the examination and 639 (64.16 percent) were found eligible. This year about 21 students applied for graduation, 24 percent in masters and 25 percent in PhD.
