We all know the dependence of human life on the world of medicine. Whether it is a severe epidemic or a serious disease, it is expected to be cured after treatment, but if this treatment takes us to the door of death, then what then? Disney Plus Hotstar’s new webseries ‘Human’ seems to be answering this question. This 10-episode series is directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mojaz Singh. With the help of a gripping screenplay, repeated horror trips, it reveals the dangerous nature of capitalism.

What is the story

The web series stars two aspiring doctors Gauri Nath (Shefali Shah) and Saira Sabarwal (Kirti Kulhari). The story begins with the trial of illegal drugs on the underprivileged section of the society. The culprit is Manthan, a multispecialty hospital run by Vayu Pharmaceuticals and neurosurgeon Gauri Nath, run by Mohan Vaidya and his son Ashok Vaidya. Vaidya knows that the drug S93R is banned in the West, but he wants to make it a supermedicine after the loss he has incurred in trying to make a vaccine for Covid 19.

When the story gets twisted

A youth named Mangu (Vishal Jethwa) convinces his parents to test a drug. He believes that the money received from this will help him to get out of poverty. Things get complicated when his mother has a drug reaction and dies. Further the question arises whether the culprits will be punished for this, where politicians, businessmen and doctors are all involved.

Strong character of Shefali Shah

There’s a lot to appreciate about ‘Humans’. Its theme, screenplay and tremendous work of filmmaking. In the midst of all this, all the attention remains on Shefali Shah. It is one of the best works of his career. When Gauri speaks on screen, everyone listens carefully.

Saira’s character follows Gauri’s every step. Maybe it was done intentionally. She suddenly feels a sense of guilt and seems to be trying to do the right things. The character of Mangu has been given a lot of detail. Vishal Jethwa impresses after Mardaani 2.
