Padma Sachdev was a celebrated poet, novelist, and short story writer from Jammu and Kashmir. She was awarded the Sahitya Akademi award in 2002 for her book of poetry ‘Chitt-Chete’. She was a recipient of the Padma Shri in 2002, and was also a part of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages. On 13th April 2021, Padma Sachdev breathed her last in Jammu after a prolonged illness.
