India has won five medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, the highest ever tally for the country. This is the first time India has won more than four medals in the Paralympics. The other medals were won by Devendra Jhajharia (gold in javelin throw – F46), Pooja (silver in shot put – F53), Sharad Kumar (bronze in high jump – T64) and Suyash Narayan Jadhav (bronze in 1500m – T64).
Kathunia’s medal is India’s fifth medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. This is the first time India has won more than four medals in the Paralympics.
